You can read about the type of courses we offer below. We can also work with you to create tailored programmes or provide skills refresher training of various kinds. Group and in-house training can be arranged. If you are interested in something arranged on an individual or group basis please get in touch through our contact page.

All our course fees include registration and certification, specific training manuals for your course and use of first aid or other equipment.

Why would I want to do this course?
This new 6 hour course aims to develop confidence and skills in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and the use of automated external defibrillators (AEDs). The combined course is suitable for anyone but may be particularly relevant for those with access to an AED in the work place or who have a responsibility for leisure or community groups.

An additional short module (of around 2-3 hours) in the use of AEDs can be added to other first aid courses offering a dual qualification.

What would I do on this course?
Around 70% of the 6 hour course will be spent in interactive, practical activity. It will be delivered by qualified teachers and trainers who also have practical first aid experience.

By the end of the course you will be able to:

• Assess the situation so you can act safely and effectively in an emergency
• Deal with the unresponsive and breathing person
• Maintain a safe airway position
• Deal with the unresponsive and non- breathing person
• Perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR)
• Deal with choking
• Understand the importance of the ‘Chain of Survival'
• Have a basic awareness of heart rhythms and the relationship to the use of AEDs
• Apply the use of AEDs through a number of practical scenarios
• Appreciate how to report and record incidents

Assessment is continuous through each section of the programme.

What's included in the price?
Included in the price is the use of recommended first aid materials, an easy to follow individual course booklet and one CPR training manikin per 2 participants. You will use AED training machines during the practical scenarios. You will receive an accredited, recognised certificate, issued by ITC an awarding body.

I have a group needing training can you meet their needs?
The content of the course can be adapted to suit your needs and the context in which it may be used can be brought into the training. If you require a more specific course please contact us or have a look at our other courses. We can also deliver courses at weekends, during evenings or night shifts.

How do I know this meet my statutory requirements?
This ITC Level 2 Award in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and Automated External Defibrillation can be viewed on the national database of regulated qualifications number 600/1755/7. The certificate is valid for 3 years.

How do I keep my qualification valid?
To remain valid there is a requirement for you to retrain every 3 years. Additionally, it is strongly recommended that you undergo at least an annual refresher course.
